Always inspect belts and hoses

West Highlands Auto Repair at 5440 W 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge CO 80214, would like to give a tip.   Belts and hoses should be check during the routine maintenance.  The serpentine or drive belt on most vehicles will run your A/C, water pump, alternator, and power steering system.  If a belt is worn or cracked it may sequel, if this belt breaks it will cause bigger issue. (IE overheat, steering wheel hard, battery light coming and not charging, etc.)  Belts may wear from usage or by age, in the Mile High area we have dry climate and both hot and cold season.   Belts and hoses are rubber so with time it may deteriorate,  that’s why you should inspect the hoses also.   If a hose raptures it may leak out coolant causing the vehicle to overheat, or not provide heat inside.  The coolant will help keep the vehicle from over heating and preventing damage to the engine.   This is why belts and hoses are preventive maintenance , so visit us online at www.westhighlandsauto.com or call us as (303)433-9233 our hours of operation is Monday thru Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
