One the items that should be check is the coolant\antifreeze this helps the vehicle from overheating at the same this will help provide inside the vehicle so you don’t freeze. It’s always a good idea to have a tech inspect this and make your antifreeze\coolant has protection to -35°F at the least. If it has more water than coolant\antifreeze this can do damage to the coolant hoses to potentially the engine.
